"Face the challenge – it’s worth it!"
Оригинален български език
I must confess that when I read the call about the Summer Institute, I was really impressed by it. And attracted. But I also asked myself many questions, e.g. is it worth spending a part of my vacation and savings to go that far and face something that could happen to be a senseless adventure?!? Moreover, the questions didn’t ended with taking the decision, but vice versa - with the process of getting the visa and the rest of the preparations, which were sometimes also problematic. Nevertheless, it was about IP and competition law, which were my key professional interests and therefore I was still optimistic. Moreover, I would go to China, an interesting country and “feel and touch” its atmosphere at least!

"My summer school in China: much more than just a significant education experience"
Lingua originale italiana
For personal inclinations I am a fairly sedentary, attached to my world and environment, where I can give my best. From this premise I intend to start describing my experience in the last Summer Law Institute organized by Prof. Paolo Farah in Beijing during the summer 2012.
After initial hesitation due to the remoteness, to the "courage" needed to throw myself into a completely new experience and to the fear of clashing with a world too different from mine, I decided to present the application for the Summer Law Institute 2012. After being selected, I received a lot of material to prepare the lessons that I would have faced in a few month.

“The Summer Law Institute in Beijing is not something to be described in words, it is something to be experienced.”
Anyway, I am going to give you a hint of my amazing experiences. I am a person who loves challenges, so when my university posted an offer for the Summer Law Institute 2012, I didn’t hesitate and apply for it. Before, China had never been on my top list of the countries I wanted to visit. However, the vision of studying a topic that I am very interested in, the internship offers and of course the visit of the Great Wall made me to change my mind.
I love travelling, and I dare to say that I have visited many countries so far, but China was very different and quite intense experience. At the airport I manage to avoid very friendly taxi drivers yelling “best offer, my friend” and to find the “proper” taxi stop.

“A thrilling opportunity to get to know a completely different culture and meet amazing new people from all over the world. Beijing is definitely worth exploring, especially when you are surrounded by enthusiastic friends who join you for a travel.”

Attending the Summer Law Institute 2012 in Beijing was an invaluable life-time experience for me. I decided to apply for this summer school mainly because of my interests in Intellectual property law. The program offered by Summer Law Institute seemed very exciting and I must say that the actual experience exceeded my expectations. I did not expect to have the opportunity to meet the professionals from different disciplines (such as European Union Institutions, western companies or legal offices etc.) and what I have learnt from them was worth working hard and long.
