Our History
The Summer Law institute has been organized since the year 2006. Thanks to the vision of the Scientific Director and Program Co-ordinator, from the first edition up to the present one, the structure of the program has strongly evolved to keep the program always up-to-date and at the highest academic and professional standards. For instance, the new SICCEP curriculum was added together with the round tables, the job fair, the internship program and the international and European collaborations.
West Virginia University, Department of Public Administration (WV, USA) and gLAWcal – Global Law Initiatives for Sustainable Development (United Kingdom) have set up a Summer Law Institute in China – Executive Education Training Program to be held in Beijing (China) with two parallel curricula to be held in two different terms.
This program is organized in partnership with University of Calgary Law School (Canada), University of Provence Aix Marseille I - CNRS Centre of Comparative Epistemology and Ergology (France) and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain).
From the edition 2011, two institutions have been affiliated to the summer program: University of Eastern Piedmont Faculty of Economics (Italy), University of Pavia, Faculty of Law (Italy). From the 2012 edition Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain) joined the program. From the edition 2013, University of Verona, Department of Law (Italy) joined the program. From Edition 2014, University of Calgary Law School (Canada) joined the program.
Participants of the previous editions comprised young students and professionals from Albania, Belgium, Botswana, Bulgaria, Canada, Central African Republic, China, Comores, Czech Republic, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Hungary, Iran, Italy, Ivory Coast, Lebanon, Liberia, Lithuania, Mali, Macedonia (FYROM), Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Togo, Venezuela, Uganda, United Kingdom, and the United States.
