Beijing

The capital of the People’s Republic of China, Beijing is the nation’s political, economic, cultural and educational center. Thanks to its geographical location, situated in northern China, close to the port of Tianjin and partially surrounded by Hebei province, the metropolis is the main transportation hub and port of entry, and serves as an important center for international trade and communications.
Beijing’s history dates back to three millennia: for centuriesit has been the heart and soul of politics and society, which makes it an attractive destination for travellers willing to explore its rich and opulent cultural heritage.  At the same time, thanks to China’s impressive economic and social transformation, the capital, home to 21 million people, has become one of the most populous cities in the world and a frenetic and vibrant city buzzing with energy.

Beijing best epitomizes the exciting blend of tradition and modernity characterizing China today, and is a must-visit destination for any young mind driven by curiosity about the outside world!

 

Peking University School of Government

Beida LibraryThe School of Government is committed to student learning and the promotion of excellence, with the aim of establishing a world-class government school. It wishes to act as a high-level training and education center for government and public management, a consultative base for the party and the government decision-making process, and a platform of exchange for internal and external academic communities. The school focuses on discipline building and talents training, combining political science and economics, integrating academic research, practical applications and professional training.

Peking University School of Government is a fantastic place to study and work, boasting internationally acclaimed research and outstanding teaching quality. The School has an international reputation for its teaching activities and offers a range of degree programs at undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD level. The school has more than 50 faculty members who have distinguished themselves in study and research in the different fields.

 

Housing

During the Summer School participants will reside in a hotel located just outside the University Campus, 20 minutes walk from the building where all the lectures will take place, and 10 minutes from the closest subway station.

The Hotel provides two-bed, three-bed and four-bed rooms, all with a living area at the entrance and two bathrooms. Moreover the Hotel has WiFi and LAN connection and a dry-cleaning service.
